The Work in connection with the Enterprise-wide IT Project was continued during the year 2009. The Contract for the Enterprise-wide IT Solution had been awarded in February 2005 to M/s. Co-options Technologies in India for a sum of US $ 4.64 million.

This included supply and Installation of Computer Hardware Equipment to be financed by the NWSDB. This activity was under taken by the NWSDB and Supply and Installation of Computer Hardware Equipment was completed during the year 2007.

The Contract Sum was reduced up to US $ 3.98 million.

The Solution was completed in 2009. Deployment of the Solution is to be done.

Cumulative expenditure up to 31/12/2009 was US $ 3.98 million.. In addition to IT Solution Project, on line payment system, consumer complaints system, asset management system were in progress during 2009. The verification of fixed assets were undertaken by the Valuation Department.

The schedules of fixed assets were provided by the IT Division. The Computer Hardware maintenance reported to the IT Division by various divisions were attended by the IT Division. The Wide Area Network covering all Manager Offices throughout the Island including Regional Support Centers were continued during the year 2009. Virtual Private Network was provided by Sri Lanka Telecomt.
