Interruption to Water Supply due to stubborn burst in the transmission main feeding Dehiwala Reservoir from Ambatale Water Treatment Plant A stubborn failure has occurred in the above transmission main around 8.00pm on 2013.04.10. Due to this failure the water supply to following area are interrupted. 1. Wellawatta 2. Dehiwala/ Mt. Lavinia MC area 3. Part of Moratuwa MC 4. Kotikawatta/ Mulleriya Repair to the transmission main was commenced immediately after the failure and is expected to complete by the afternoon. Arrangement has been made to commence transmission and distribution of water immediately thereafter. It is expected that water will be released to the distribution network later in the day. Arrangement has been made to bowser supply to cater the immediate requirement in the area. National Water Supply & Drainage Board regret the inconvenience fault due to this situation and arrangement has been made to restore the supply as early as possible. |

National WATSAN Coordination Newsletter
Ministry of Water Supply & Drainage A NATIONAL NEWSLETTER for the water and sanitation sector is to be published by the Ministry of Water Supply and Drainage to facilitate the coordination and collaboration in the sector, that will eventually enhance fair resource mobilization for the sector. This newsletter will highlight key developments across the country as well as research and news items, enhance information sharing and flag upcoming events. You are invited to submit news items, details of upcoming events, any sector related news, following the guidelines below, to be shared with stakeholders. Also your suggestions for a suitable name for the newsletter will be welcome. Guidelines for submissions for the first quarter newsletter 2013: Deadline - 20th February 2013 Word limit - Up to 250 Medium of submission - electronic submissions preferred - MS word or any editable language (Not PDF).
