The inauguration of the Kebithigolleva, Horowpothana Water Project (Anuradhapura North Water Supply Project – Phase II) was held today (July 10) under the patronage of the President. The estimated cost is Rs. 51 billion and the objective is to provide drinking water to over sixty thousand families in 119 Grama Niladhari Divisions of Kebithigolleva, Horowpothana, Padaviya, Kahatagasdigiliya. Furthermore, it will contribute to minimizing health problems caused by Chronic Kidney Disease (CKDu) and high fluoride groundwater. This is a development project of national importance being implemented jointly by the Government of Sri Lanka and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
